St Andrew’s Healthcare is a registered charity (no. 1104951) and a company limited by guarantee (no. 5176998). Registered in England and Wales, our registered office is at Cliftonville Road, Northampton, NN15DG.
St Andrew's has been a charity since 1838, when it was funded by public subscription and founded thanks to the foresight and commitment of a number of Northamptonshire families. More information about St Andrew’s charitable tradition is available in our heritage section.
As a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity, we are governed by a Court of Governors and a Board of Directors. The Directors are also the Trustees of the Charity. The Charity’s governing document is its Articles of Association, a copy of which can be downloaded from this page.

NHS Improvement (previously Monitor) regulates providers of NHS services and how they are governed. As a provider of services to the NHS, the Charity is required to be licensed by NHS Improvement. The standard licence conditions are grouped in to seven sections. Section 6 concerns NHS Improvement’s oversight of provider governance.
Certification against condition G6 of the Licence
Following a review for the purpose of paragraph 2(b) of licence condition G6, the Directors of the Licensee are satisfied that, from the date that the Licensee was granted a licence to the end of the most recent financial year, the Licensee took all such precautions as were necessary in order to comply with condition G6.
Public Benefit report
As a charity, St Andrew’s must demonstrate on an annual basis that its activities are aligned to its charitable objectives and that, where fees are payable, these do not act as a barrier to people of limited financial means accessing its services. An annual audit is conducted and the findings presented in our Public Benefit Report.
Each year we submit our accounts to the Charity Commission and Companies Registry.
