We help our patients to stabilise their condition and give them skills to identify, understand and take responsibility for their risk behaviour so we can support a full return to community living.

We lead in the field of specialist secure care and our service is driven by PD psychologists and psychiatrists and supported by a full multidisciplinary team (MDT).

Therapeutic programme and specialist interventions

Our dedicated programme offers intensive therapeutic settings combined with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). We provide specialist gender-driven programmes tailored to the complex treatment needs of people living with PD.  We use Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) strategies to help patients to accept reality as it is 'in the moment' (Mindfulness). Our programme is built around structure, boundaries, bespoke trained staff and a strong psychological model.

Psychology treatment model: delivering round-the-clock therapy

In line with National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines our four phase treatment model is developed around assessment, treatment, consolidation and discharge and incorporates risk monitoring throughout.

Psychology treatment model – Hadleigh

At the core of the model is a sound therapeutic approach which creates a predictable and safe environment where patients can express themselves and make progress within clearly defined boundaries. The treatment models are varied so that therapies target a patient’s specific treatment needs.

Specialist environmental provision

Our clinical environments are designed for patients to receive a therapeutic learning experience 24-hours a day. We can adapt the learning environment to provide patients with increasing autonomy as they progress, to support their transition to step-down and community living.
