Sales and Marketing works with the clinical and operational teams across St Andrew’s to promote existing services and to develop new ones.
We contribute to the delivery of the Charity’s vision of helping as many patients as possible live as independent a life as possible, by seeking to be our customers’ first choice for the care of particularly challenging and vulnerable patients. Our goal is to ensure St Andrew’s delivers excellent customer service and improved value for money, while continuing to offer specialist, premium services. We recognise that outstanding clinical care lies at the heart of our customer service.
At St Andrew’s the Sales and Marketing team has a wide remit, from the professional promotion of a wide range of secure mental health services to customers across the UK, and increasingly internationally, to managing the admissions process for over 350 patients each year.
Roles in Sales and Marketing
St Andrew’s is an outstanding and rewarding place to develop your healthcare service sales and marketing skills. The team encompasses contracting, new business development and conference and event management, as well as admissions and more conventional sales, business development, relationship management and marketing roles. With approximately 30 people in the team, there are progression opportunities within Sales and Marketing, as well as the potential to move to broader commercial roles within St Andrew’s.
New employees will generally have good technical skills, with support and learning focused mainly on understanding the mental health market. As a sales and marketing team, it is essential we understand our 'product', and nothing beats the experience gained from working on wards and meeting customers at first hand. Above all, we are a friendly, informal organisation where everyone is on first name terms.
Your first year with us
We expect new employees to learn a lot, work hard to understand our services and develop relationships internally and externally, as well as to find our department a stimulating place to work and develop.
St Andrew’s offers all the formal career development processes and internal training resources that you would expect of a successful, professional organisation. Where necessary, the development of technical sales and marketing skills is provided through external courses.
